New racer questions
Asked at the track every week — answered honestly.
Is a Mini-Z hard to drive?
A learning curve measured in minutes, not weeks. Turn the radio's dual-rate steering down at first and the car becomes very forgiving.
Can my kid race one?
Yes — kids race alongside adults at NWLA RC every week. Want to test the waters? Use a loaner car on a practice night before buying anything.
What if I break something?
Parts are cheap and on the shelf at the track. Most crash repairs cost under $20 and take minutes.
Which body should I pick?
The one you think looks coolest — the chassis underneath is the same. You'll drive more with a car you love looking at.
Do I need upgrades to race?
No. Box Stock class exists so ReadySets race competitively out of the box. Upgrades are a fun rabbit hole later.
